League Table Division 1
The play-offs for the Albion cup are hotting up as the first round of matches are nearly complete. Night's Watch took on the Karak Norn Blitzers in a hard fought game. The horde team will feel aggrieved that the game ended up going to penalties where the dwarfs displayed admirable kicking skills to put them into the next round. Meanwhile Munch Bunch 2 took on a decidedly out of sorts Albion Lions, who sank to a 2-0 defeat. Their first of the season, and their last!
That's a Good Question were odds on to progress when they took on the inexperienced Mad Ratters, but a last minute spending spree meant the Ratters managed to hold the nurgle team to a 1-1 draw. Once again penalties came into play and the skaven went through, dumping the league leaders out of the cup at the quarter final stage. Now the all-elf tie remains to be played before the semi final draw. Last time QPB edged out the pro-elves, but few pundits are hazarding a guess as to who will come out on top this time.
Meanwhile the new season got underway fairly quietly with a distinct increase in elf teams. The Wood Elf team Loren Ladybirds are the early leaders after three straight wins, closely followed by "Dave's High Elf Team" who won their opener against Plausible Deniability. Kingdom Tigers, the division's Ogre team managed a creditable win against the lizardmen of the Hexoatl Harbingers, but couldn't resist the agility of the Ladybirds. The superleague has so far only managed one game, an enterprising if unlikely draw between the Lightning Lizards and Dodge Boot. It remains to be seen if the other established teams have the will to carry on after a very competitive and busy season last year.
